If the mother is in a position to make their own decisions, it can force someone he loves to give. If she is found unsuitable, then you might have a case too good to be appointed guardian or the estate of his mother. If the man lives in the violence, maybe you can get your single mother and a lawyer should work together to decide what is in their interest.

Talk to a lawyer. There are rules on power and its uses. One of them, what their death. Not sure of the common law and do not think those days are over. Please consult your attorney about the laws regarding this. It's worth the money, without having to guess, to understand.

Unless your mother has some type of mental disability, I think he is in a position to decide who you want to
However, I want to be alone with mom and real heart to heart with her boyfriend on the situation and the wishes,
One way around it (although I'm not a lawyer) and let POA. The next day, signs one of you (or) someone. The latter is valid. Then, peace will prevail, because no one knows ..
Please check this because I am not a lawyer and states vary.

If it does not call my mother's Protective Services for adults and at least one case, to go and clean and can tell you the truth about the abuse and if it ends up in court will be very useful! Also can do who is away from her goal! If the POA passport is valid, where I live. You can always blow a little smoke and say that you have proof! Tell us! Good luck to you!
